Nacido no en los EEUU
The purpose of this project was to learn about different Spanish-speaking countries worldwide. We went out
The title of my book was "Mi Vida en Guatemala." This translates to "My life in Guatemala," as my story was about a man who loved in Guatemala.

The Exhibition with Del Alma
I wasn't too excited after the Del Alma Exhibition. The idea of going and reaching out to a more authentic audience was a great idea, but the kids from Del Alma didn't speak Spanish, aside from one exception, and they didn't seemed genuinely interested in our stories. I did think the kids were very cute though, and it was fun to hang out with them and share our work, nonetheless.
My Reflection about the Project
I felt really good about the writing part of my story. It managed to have an actual story, while being an educational kid’s book. I accomplished this by simply imagining, what if I were in the shoes of my character, and that just lead me through my book. I’m really happy I did it this way, as I think my book is very strong in this sense, and I am really proud of it.
If there one thing I would want to go back and fix, it would be the artwork in my book. I am not an incredibly great artist myself, but I didn’t want to just take pictures from the internet and paste them into the book. Some of my pages were better than others, but I feel like the overall quality of my artwork was not great, and I would love to go back and re-do that part of the project.

Arte y Lengua
This project involved first learning a bit about artist we were going to base our work around. We had to find common themes in our artist's works to base what our projects would be around. Then it was no hold barred. We started to plan out our projects and then just went wild with our ideas, shaping our new projects to life.
Reflection of Arte y Lengua Project
From this project I learned that Spanish-speaking countries have very spectacular buildings. I haven't seen large-scale building in other countries before, and it is very interesting to see what they have achieved. I learned that my artist was incredibly ambitious. He strayed away from anything that was small and really went all-out on everything he crafted. I was proud I had my project done on time. I must say it was the most ambitious one I've done this far, and I was quite glad when I finished it. I was pretty happy about this project, although I wouldn't mind if we strayed from the art idea. The biggest challenge was finishing the project. Covering it in mirror shards took a very long time.
Receta y Oda
This project was all about translating a recipe from English to Spanish using vocabulary we had learned about common cooking things. Then, we had to make an ode to the main ingredient from out recipe. Finally, we made our food, and read our odes and exhibited the food we made.
I really liked this project, as it was hands on, while it still made the writing segment fun and challenging. I was really excited about this project, and writing the poem was really fun and interesting, because they almost seemed silly, as we were treating food as some higher being. I really wish I could have made it to the final exhibition, but due to my sickness I had at the time, I had to lay in bed while others were out exhibiting their delicious foods, but, nonetheless, I am happy I got to participate in this project.
